Raspberry Mousse
Recipe: Raspberry Mousse
Raspberry Mousse is so light, fluffy and easy to make. Super delicious, it is gelatin and agar agar free. Perfect gluten free dessert to enjoy and did I mention quick to put together.
Hubby is not too fond of raspberries because of bite from the seeds. He sometimes finds them a bit tart but I love the combined sweet and tart taste. Actually, I had made raspberry mousse bang in the coldest month of the year….February! I had got some fresh raspberries from the supermarket and decided to make the mousse to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family.
Back then, somehow the recipe didn’t get to the blog. I kept pushing it, today, tomorrow, etc till the whole passed by. When I saw that one of the theme’s for Sunday Funday Group is Gluten Free Desserts, fished out the recipe from my draft and the photos from the thousands stored in iCloud.
As the recipe is so easy to put together, I have made it several times and hopefully will be able to make it for my family reunion. Yup, meeting up with my kids, their spouses, grandchildren at my dad’s place in London. First time, we’ll all be there as a family. Usually, one is missing because of work or other commitments.

Ingredients For Raspberry Mousse
Fresh Raspberries – I have always used fresh ones. But am sure frozen ones will work too.
Whipping Cream – double cream. Beat it till it forms stiff peaks. This is an important step as the beaten cream gives it that light and fluffy texture.
Cream Cheese – plain.
Powdered Sugar – confectioners sugar, icing sugar. Alternately, can grind white sugar at home.
Orange Juice – preferably fresh. Just to add a bit of flavour and help to grind the raspberries to a smooth texture.
Lemon Juice – optional. If the raspberries are tart, then you can omit the lemon juice.
Vanilla Extract – for flavouring. Can replace it with lemon zest.

Thanks Renu, usually no one wants to eat white chocolate on its own but it disappeared pretty fast when I served it with the mousse.

The little one at home is a huge fan of berries-based dessert and although we dont have a ‘berry’ season, must try this dessert subbing it with strawberries that have just begun to show up in the markets..

This raspberry mousse is my kind of liking. I love mouse that has a citrusy/zesty touch rather than an overly sweet one. The mingling of sweet and tangy flavors is party to the palate. Adding citrusy flavors – is my takeaway from this delicious mousse recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Raspberry mousse, that’s one light and fluffy dessert! Love how you have served it. This is easy to whip up too. I always keeps a bag of mixed berries in the freezer, will give this a try! With holidays coming up, boys are always ready for something sweet to eat!

Thanks Priya, I usually love to make desserts in bowls or small glasses as it is less messy when we need to serve it. With cheesecake and mousse as you don’t remove from the mold, you can omit the setting agent, as long as you use good quality cream.

Having a raspberry season is on here, it is so good to have a dessert to match the beautiful berries. I am worried I may not stop at one cup!
